Bates, Capt. Gordon, The KHAKI BOYS At CAMP STERLING or Training for the Big Fight in France. The Khaki Boys Series #1
Bates, Capt. Gordon
The KHAKI BOYS At CAMP STERLING or Training for the Big Fight in France. The Khaki Boys Series #1
New York: Cupples & Leon, 1918. Later printing, ca 1920. Beige cloth with dark brown lettering/stamping. Color pictorial dust jacket (signed 'Botkin'). [4], 206, [6 (adverts)] pp. Frontis. 12mo. VG+ (pos to front paste-down)/VG (some chips at spine panel ends). The first 3 titles of this series are all copyrighted '1918', which gives rise to the speculation that these first 3 works of the series were issued simultaneously, as a breeder set, perhaps in part to offset the fact the series was a bit 'late to the [WWI] party', vis-a-vis 'The Boy Allies', et al. Internal series advert lists through #6 of the series.
