A fine exemplar of a presentation copy of the true First Edition of an important book, the only SIGNED copy available currenly on-line, with unbruised tips, tight binding of blue cloth and gilt lettering to spine, and clean internals, showing only very slight shelf- and edge-wear; not ex-library, with neither underlining nor highlighting anywhere. Sans intact dust jacket, but one flap and front panel laid in. Inscribed warmly to Mr. Clifford Maggs (yes, that Maggs!) over the latter's handsome bookplate, "with great respect for a name beloved of all book-lovers, and in especial, by Owen E. Holloway." Laid in also are two letters from Holloway to Maggs from London, 22 Sept. 1969 and 27 Sept. 1969 of exceeding charm and meaning. Special focus on the book illustrations of Gravelot (1699-1773), Eisen (1720-1778), Moreau (741-8114), Marillier (1740-1808), Choffard (1730-1809), and complete with a list of illustrations and index, bibliography. 283 illustrations, quite sumptuous, in black-and-white, mostly engravings. vi + 115 pp.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards. .
