Haarlem, A.C. Kruseman, 1851, 40pp. original paper softcover binding. Donated by the author to "Den weledelgeboren en zeer geleerden haar D.D. Büchler, lid van het Koninklijk Nederlandsch Instituut, president der Amsterdamsche commissie tot het oprichten van een metalen standbeeld voor Coster. Laurens Janszoon Coster, Coster also spelled Koster, (born c. 1370, Netherlands-died 1440?, Haarlem?), Dutch rival of Johannes Gutenberg as the alleged inventor of printing.Little is known of this early printer, whose last name means “sacristan,” his title as an official of the Great Church of Haarlem. He is mentioned several times in records between 1417 and 1434 as alderman, tax assessor, and treasurer and is presumed to have died in a plague that struck Haarlem in 1440, when his wife is recorded as a widow.

Het paard gaat echter op zijn achterpoten lopen, dansen, knielt voor een dame en slaat op hol. Tot slot springt het paard dwars door een schilderij.

Without place, printer or date, [1824], one signature of three folded leaves, unsewn without cover, [12] pp., ruffled edges, some folded corners and some foxing but overall in good condition, a collection of 12 songs to celebrate the fourth centennial of the invention of printing with moveable type. According to the Haarlem Democriet Society (Genootschap Democriet) this invention originated in Haarlem with Lourens Janszoon Koster (ca. 1370-1440). Koster is referred to al lot in these songs, as is Haarlem. Each song is introduced by an emblem-like illustration: e.g. a winged capital A, the Haarlem city crest, a burning candle, the Dutch lion, Oeroboros (snake) and a printing press.
