Two images on one plate; the top image of a sleeping lion seen on the back, the other of a reasing lion seen from the side.Etching on hand laid paper, sheet size 220 x 354 mm., platemark 165 x 247 mm., by Johann Elias Ridinger (Ulm 1698-1767 Augsburg) after his own design, as number 10 in an unknown series, published 1748.In good condition, the margins quite soiled and with small pinprick rust spots. Thie image generally clean and neat.

Ree - Roe deer
Stylistic depiction of a roe deer in a field.Woodcut on Japanese paper, sheet size 347 x 291 mm., image size c. 235 x 215 mm. Made by Jaap Veldheer and published in the Houtsnedenummer (Woodcut issue) of the famous periodical Wendingen in 1919 (year 2, nr. 7/8). It was printed by De Volharding and published by De Hooge Brug.Jacbous Gerardus ('Jaap') Veldheer (Haarlem 1866 - 1954 Blaricum) was a Dutch painter, etcher, graphic artist and designer. In very good condition. The left edge folded over, a crease in the top right edge.
