This being a reference work of the objects, papers and maps associated with the poet Tennyson. Heavily influenced by his poetic predecessors, in particular John Keats and the romantic poets,Tennyson worked hard to shape his craft. Tennyson is perhaps one of Britain's best loved poets, and is still the longest acting poet laureate for Britain, holding the position for forty-two year, right up until his death in 1892. Compiled by Nancie Campbell, with an forward by Charles Tennyson and an introduction by Professor C. Y. Lang. Nancie Campbell was educated in Edinburgh, and spent much of her early career cataloguing the Edinburgh Local History Collection as well as several other important archives in Edinburgh.
