Unpaginated, approximately 100-120 pp. A collection of various house designs, with 'over 1700 architectural illustrations' that include floor plans and exterior views of various home styles. This includes ranches, split levels, expandable 1 ½ story houses, narrow lot houses, two story houses, swimming pool homes, farm type residences, etc. With text descriptions of each plan as well as general discussions on materials needed. Styles range from traditional to modern. Issued as a catalog for blueprints that could be purchased from the publisher. A good representation of styles in mid-20th century home designs and architecture. GOOD condition. Large square glue stain to the front cover, perhaps from a pastedown removed (or lost). Other scattered brown stains to the covers, with minor to moderate foxing and soiling also to the covers. Uneven minor fading and browning. Interior clean and solid. Some foxing and offsetting/browning to the rear inside cover and endpaper. Order forms and form letter still present, bound in at the rear. Good/No Jacket.

A primarily photo history of American house architecture and design, depicting both exteriors and interiors of houses in the English tradition, as well as Hudson River Valley and Dutch tradition, English tradition south, Federal and Greek revival, German and log tradition, French and Spanish tradition, Victorian houses and pioneers in modern housing. All photos are accompanied by English language captions with Japanese text. While seemingly similar to Mary Mix Foley's 'The American House' there are very few drawings, and all photos are in color. GOOD condition, EX-MUSEUM LIBRARY with a pocket and pastedown present in the interior. Faint remains of a spine label present. Heavy offsetting to the covers along the spine.
