Each page is outlined with a decorated, gilt border and is richly illustrations throughout. There is also a plan of London and a map of the district railway.This is a copy of the fourth edition. The fourth edition has a new feature in the Railway and Steamship routes from London to all principal places in Europe. Collated, complete. In full decorative cloth binding. Externally, worn. The Front board is coming away from the spine but is still attached. The spine is bumped and a little faded as are the extremities. There are a few marks to the boards. The Amalgamated Society of Engineers was a major British trade union representing factory workers and mechanics.The present group contains extensive reports including trade disputes and assistance, benefits, notices, trade disputes and strikes, emigration, secretaries' duties, and further miscellaneous subjects. Vol. I with monthly reports from 1861 to 1866 in one volume. Vol. II contains monthly reports from 1873 and 1875.Vol. III contains monthly, quarterly, and abstract reports for 1880. Monthly reports with separate paginations.Interesting association copies from the library of the Amalgamated Society of Engineer, the Handsworth branch, with bookplate to front pastedown.  In uniform half morocco bindings over marbled boards. 'Archaeologia' is a journal published by the Society of Antiquaries of London, which began publication in 1770. The journal consisted of papers and lectures that had been delivered at the society's meetings, delivered by a wide variety of influential members, such as William Cowper, John Braithwaite, John Lubbock, William Henry Smyth, and more. The journal currently has one-hundred and eleven volumes published, and whilst the publication hasn't been formally terminated, no volumes have been published since 2007. There was also a break during the Second World War, after which the publication became more irregular, though up until 1939 the journal was published on a fairly regular basis. With 23 issues in total, dating from between 1890 and 1892, with volumes I and II published by the Herald Press, and volumes III and IV by the Birmingham Industrial Arts Club.With illustrated articles in facsimile handwriting on such subjects as 'The Study of Ancient Buildings', 'The Love of Nature is the True Incentive to Landscape Art', and 'Ferns and the Microscope&apos.With contributions from renowned British scholar, artist, art critic, historian and archaeologist Percy Brown, painter, embroiderer, teacher, book illustrator and stained glass designer associated with the Arts and Crafts Movement Mary Jane Newill, and numerous other individuals including Maggie Harrison, Stanley Thompson and Irene Payne.With illustrated contemporary advertisements to the verso of front wrap and recto of rear wrap to the majority of issues, these advertisements would be well targeted to readers of the publication, often for art supplies or books on or by famous artists.These issues are held within a custom made hand embroidered case bearing the name Ether Isabel Cook. Some water marks and fraying to the cloth, with stitching between front and rear boards detached. The publisher's wraps are detached but present to two issue.
