Original full brown calf, gilt design to the boards and the spine, all edges gilt. This copy is marred by scuffing and staining to the rear board, and severe waterstaining to the blank pages at the back of the book. There is also some scuffing to the binding, some wear to the upper joint, and foxing to the edges of the text pages. On the plus side, this copy retains the 24 colour plates (one of which has some light chafing to one corner). A rare and elaborate production.
