Original decorated blue cloth, gilt titling to the front board and the spine, all edges gilt. Binding shaken, light chafing to the head of the spine, inner hinges repaired, pp xiii/xiv chipped at the margins, some minor foxing. Overall, this copy is only in fair to good condition, but the binding is bright, and the contents are generally clean. Undated, but COPAC dates the book to 1876, and there is an ownership inscription to the front pastedown dated 11/11/76. The list of illustrations calls for 42 plates - this copy lacks the plate at page 40 (as usual).
