Longman Hurst Rees Orme and Brown,, 1820. 3 vols., 8vo., First Edition, First Issue, some light and generally inoffensive age-staining; contemporary dark blue half roan, marbled boards, backs with flat bands ruled in gilt, second compartments lettered in gilt, red sprinkled edges, boards scuffed and age-faded, all joints moderately rubbed (but bindings wholly sound), backstrip of second volume wanting top panel, backstrip of third volume wanting two panels at bottom, a good, sound working copy. The following points should be noted. All volumes: bound without half-titles. First volume: fly-title present; gathering missigned F [for E] as sometimes [see T&B p.527]. Second volume: fly-title present; wanting lower half of last leaf of text (Q2); no figure '6' on p.350 (Q1) (see T&B p.527). Third volume: wanting fly-title; moderate age-staining on front endpapers; section signature missigned 2P [for P2] as often (see T&B p.527); full point after printer's imprint (Q4); bound without advertisement leaf.
