Collated complete. Scott's historical narrative poem, set in the Scottish Borders in the sixteenth century, in six cantos, written as if sung by a minstrel. With notes, anecdotes, and descriptions. Including twelve views on the rivers Bothwick, Ettrick, Yarrow, Tiviot, and Tweed. Engraved by James Heath from designs by John Christian Schetky, a Scottish marine painter. Bound in full brown calf. Externally, worn with rubbing and light wear to the extremities. Front board detached. Rear joint very tender and could detach with further handling. Light loss to the head and tail of the spine and the spine label. The odd mark to the board. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright with age toning and light spotting.
