CHEEVER, John
The Way Some People Live
New York, Random House, (1943). First Edition. Hardcover. Cheever's superb first book, a collection of short stories. This copy is SIGNED by the author on the front endpaper and is fairly scarce as such. Minor wear to the spine head; otherwise, the book is fine and bright without any of the gutter darkening typical to this title. The spine of the dustwrapper has minor wear to the heel with chipping to the head just extending to "The" on the spine and to the edges of both panels. The rear panel is soiled, as usual, and the front panel is very attractive. The dustwrapper retains the original printed price. All in all, a nice example. Near Fine in a Very Good dustwrapper without any restoration whatsoever .
