E. Jackson, as well as numerous in-text B&W drawings and head and tail-pieces, also by Jackson. Each of the color plates is tipped-in onto thick gray card stock. Title page printed in red. Alfred Edward Frederick Jackson (1873-1952), a prolific illustrator of children's literature. Over the course of his career, Jackson contributed illustrations to several magazine supplements such as The Sketch and The Rainbow, and illustrated bestselling editions of Jonathan Swift's Gulliver's Travels (1914), Tales From Shakespeare (1919), Charles Kingsley's The Water Babies (1920), Tales from the Arabian Nights (1920) and Daniel Defoe's Robinson Crusoe (1921). Spine moderately sunned and faded, mild wear at head and heel, corners lightly bumped, else fine; unmarked, tight, square and clean. All of the tipped-in illustrations are in perfet condition, bright and clean. Extremely scarce edition. VERY GOOD. Color Plates. Small 4to 9" - 11" tall. 199 pp. Very Good with no dust jacket .
