A two volume set of The Way of All Flesh and The Note-Books of Samuel Butler. The Way of All Flesh is a semi-autobiographical novel that criticised Victorian hypocrisy, this is the thirteenth impression of the Second Edition, published in April 1922. The Note-Books of Samuel Butler, arranged and edited by Henry Festing Jones is the sixth impression, published in 1921. This volume has a frontispiece. Samuel Butler was an English novelist and critic. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, smart with some fading and bumping to the spines and a few light marks to the boards. There is an inscription to the front free endpaper of The Way of the Flesh. Internally, firmly bound with generally bright and clean pages. Very Good . Ill.: none. Very Good .
