A two volume set of The Way of All Flesh and The Note-Books of Samuel Butler. The Way of All Flesh is a semi-autobiographical novel that criticised Victorian hypocrisy, this is the thirteenth impression of the Second Edition, published in April 1922. The Note-Books of Samuel Butler, arranged and edited by Henry Festing Jones is the sixth impression, published in 1921. This volume has a frontispiece. Samuel Butler was an English novelist and critic. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, smart with some fading and bumping to the spines and a few light marks to the boards. There is an inscription to the front free endpaper of The Way of the Flesh.
