He founded the first boys' magazine, 'Boys Own Magazine', and published numerous self-help works, including on geography, needlework, domestic animals and natural history.Undated; dated from copies held on Jisc.In the original decorative cloth binding, with gilt detail to the cover. In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally a trifle worn; both hinges are starting. Extremities are bumped and the spine is worn. Ownership stamp to the front endpaper.
