This leaflet announces the program for the first Salon to be organised on Dutch soil, under the influence of the Paris Salon, but after the defeat of the French occupying forces. .

¶ Cornelis Apostool 1762-1844 (Ecole hollandaise), artiste et premier directeur du Musée Royal (devenu après le 'Rijksmuseum') à Amsterdam en Hollande. Une lettre, (qui figurait dans le catalogue de la vente aux enchères à Annecy en 1991) du 'Rijksbureau voor Documentatie de la Haye' (Office Royal de Documentation), datée de 1975, concernant cette gravure, mentionne la rareté des dessins et des gravures de l'artiste: 'The drawings of this talented dillettante are rare and our documentation on him and his work is scanty'.
