( colophon daté 1548 ) Folio, pp [8], 755, [13], richement décoré d'initiales coupé en bois et gravure d'un écusson de pleine page, page de titre avec nom manuscrite d'un propriétaire ancien. (une deuxième à la fin ), premières et dernières pages légèrement endommagées et un peu torsées vers les marges intérieures , mais généralement très frais. Première édition . Les grands ouvrages historiques de Krantz sont publiées après sa mort en 1517, le dernier étant cette chronique des royaumes Scandinaves. Reliure originale plein veau sur plats en bois biseauté, dos avec cartouches rectangulaires estampillées à froid, plat supérieur décoré du titre estampillé à froid, fermoirs en metal . Cuir endommagé et manquant par endroits, mais professionellement restaurée en respectant l'âge du livre. *** Joannem Schottum , Argentorati , Strassbourg , 1546. ( colophon dated 1548 ) Folio, pp [8], 755, [13], with woodcut initials throughout and one full page coat-of-arms, title page with early ownership inscriptions [another at the end], first leaves a bit worn at corners and a little torn at inner margins, last leaves also slightly frayed at fore-edges but generally very clean throughout and without serious damage. First edtion ; the great historical works of Krantz were all published posthumously following his death in 1517, the last being this present chronicle of the kingdoms of Scandinavia, edited for the press by Henry von Eppendorff. 'Elegantly written.finishing his work in 1504 Krantz had drawn heavily upon the then unpublished Saxo, presenting Sweden as a vassal state to Denmark.' An important 16th century chronicle. Contemporary blind stamped calf over bevel-edged wooden boards, the sides panelled in blind, the upper board with blind titling, metal clasps, leather worn and lacking in some places, but expertly restored and completed respecting the age of this book Ed.: ed..
