Salem Street Railroad Company - the city's first railway - was incorporated in 1862. A "horse railroad" system, it would be reorganized as Naumkeag Street Railway Company in 1875 and by the late 1880s - it would have 105 cars, 390 horses, and 30 miles of track. In the 1890s, it would be acquired by the Lynn & Boston Railroad Company. Very good .
