(1947); 9 x 6; pp. [1], 2-10, [2]; off-white wraps, printed and decorated in yellow and blue; illustrated with two plates - a photographic image and an engraving; a small crease to lower corner and a few minor spots; in very good condition. A handsome facsimile edition of the original souvenir, which commemorated the unveiling of Marshall Monument in Coloma. James Marshall (1810 - 1885) was a carpenter and sawmill operator, whose discovery of gold in January of 1848 would be the impetus for the California Gold Rush. Very good .
