Semyon Frank (1877 - 1950) was a Jewish-Russian philosopher and Socialist, who would be expelled from Russia in 1922 - one of the 160 prominent intellectuals on the so called "Philosophers' Ship" - to live the rest of his life in exile. He would be later elected Head of the prestigious Russian Scientific Institute in Berlin, in 1931. During WWII, with the assistance of his friend, author J. R. R. Tolkien, Frank moved with his family to London. His current work, in essence, a summation of his experiences during the Revolution and the following exile years, was translated and published in English in 2010. Very good .
