The Edinburgh Review, or Critical Journal was launched on 10 October 1802, and was to become one of the most influential Whig periodicals of the 19th century. Apart from individual issues, annual or semi-annual volumes were bound-up; however, these dismissed the advertising material, book catalogues, pamphlets and other ephemera which had become a staple part of each issue. In this issue the following are worthy of note: Carter's Autumn 1855 Seed Catalogue; Waterlow & Sons Stationery Catalogue (nothing in DISCOVER prior to 1882) and The Church Pastoral Aid Society - relating to railways.
