This is a Good Only Copy of this Book in what appears to be the Publisher's original red cloth or certainly contemporary to the period.With gilt title lettering to both spine and upper cover with further elaborate gilt design to the cloth on the front cover and also to spine.The cloth at head of spine has been torn and repaired at some stage and there are a couple of small 3-4mm tears to cloth at base of spine,with some staining to cloth on the rear cover.Superbly illustrated with engraved frontispiece and title page by Phiz with a few further engraved plates within the book some of which still have their original tissue guards.No previous inscriptions present.This copy has some spotting to the endpapers and frontispiece although other plates remain clean.There is a little weakness to the rear gutter hinge with stitching showing through at join.A decent and early copy then of De Foe's timeless and Classic work,8vo (xx biographical memoir) 459pp 1852 Size: 8vo - over 5¾" - 7¾" Tall. Good .
