All 3 now housed in one clear archival mylar sleeve. 3 different mss documents: 1785, 11 lines [~ 120 words]; 1802, 16 lines [~ 145 words]; 1857, 6 lines [~ 20 words]. 1785: 4-5/8" x 8". 1802: 8" x 7-13/16". 1857: 3-7/8" x 7-1/4" 1785 document an Advertisement for the sale of "a very likely young Negro wench & child.." 1802 document a receipt for the sale of "a certain Negro boy named Ned about the age of thirteen years.." The 1857 document a receipt for the $700 sale of a "Negro woman Harriet..". Wear, soiling & age-toning to each. Fold-lines. A Good set of these rare survivors from a dark period of American history.
