Title: The FUTURE Is OURS, COMRADE.; Conversations with the Russians
Description: Garden City, New York: Doubleday & Company, Inc, 1960. 1st edition. Greu linen cloth binding with red stamped spine lettering. Dust jacket. [2], 286 pp. 8vo. 8-1/2" x 5-5/8". VG (square & tight/backstrip a bit sunned)/VG (average wear/spine panel sunned & a bit faded). Kosinski, born in Poland, in the late '50s, migrated to the United States with few resources, but he received a Ford Foundation grant to enroll in the sociology graduate program at Columbia University in New York. While he was there he wrote two books about life in the Soviet Union, The Future Is Ours, Comrade (1960) and No Third Path (1962), publishing them under the pseudonym of Joseph Novak and later giving conflicting explanations as to why he did so. The books depicted life under Communism in a negative light, and allegations, never corroborated, later suggested that they were financed by the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)."
