Description: New York: Union Square Printing Co., 46 E. 14th St, 1879. 1st Printing thus, i.e. for this performance (Bolton Cricket 85). Not in Gimbel, though see B158 for a T. B. Peterson edition, posited as ca 1872. Original publisher's printed buff paper wrappers. Now housed in an archival mylar sleeve. (65) - 95, [1 (advert for T. B. Peterson)] pp. Text double column. 8vo. 9-1/8" x 5-7/8". General wear & soiling to wrappers, with rear wrapper beginning to detach at top. Age-toning. Withal, a VG copy of this rare survivor. A history of American "Dot" performances found on the verso of the front wrapper, with the first noted as February 21, 1846, also at the Park Theatre. Bolton assesses Owens, as Caleb, an "especially distinguished practitioner of the art" [of acting]. Cf. Bolton Cricket, p. 274.
