Period full polished tan calf binding with gilt stamped lettering to spine & front board; gilt dentelles, marbled eps, TEG. 31, [1 (blank)] pp. Ribbon page marker. 8vo. 8-1/8" x 5-1/4". Light extremity wear, with minor rub along lower half of front joint. A solid VG - VG+ copy. Lampoons chiefly on Rev. David Williamson, minister of St. Cuthbert's, Edinburgh. The BL assigns the 1868 date of publication, though Goldschmidt, in his Catalogue 83 [1947], posits 1830. In either case, the work quite scarce in the trade.
