"The Los Angeles Pigeon Farm was located between the Los Angeles River and Verdugo Mountains, in Los Angeles, California. Situated on 8 acres in the Cypress Park and Glassell Park districts, it was centered near the junction of San Fernando Road and Verdugo Road. The farm was established in 1898 by J. Y. Johnson for the production of Squab meat, and in operation until a Los Angeles River flood destroyed it in 1914." [Wiki].
