Description: Naples, N. Y.: , 1848. Lined paper, black ink, no housed in a mylar sleeve. Loose leaf. 10" x 8". A VG copy. Small tear at tail from wax seal, post office ink stamp, creases due to being folded, some age toning, overall clean and bright. We believe this letter to be referencing a possible order for some jewels for the Good Templars. They wear pins with different designs symbolizing ranks among them. Each of the designs are placed on a scarlet rosette. "Those rosettes were truly(?) red but not the jewels".
