This production of The Battle of Life was edited for the stage by Charles Dickens Jr. and starred prominent actors John Lawrence Toole (1830-1906) as Ben Britain, and Ellen Farren (1848-1904) as Clemency Newcombe. The play opened on December 26, 1873. No library holdings found on OCLC. Scarce. Age toning and light chipping to edge, 3 small cello-tape repairs to rear leaf spine edge. A VG copy.
