Author: [Education] Title: PHOTOGRAPH Of SCHOOLCHILDREN. Circa 1900
Description: [Kellogg, ?]: , (n. d.). Ca. 1900. Albumen photograph affixed to grey mounting board with blind-embossed rules. Now housed in a clear archival mylar sleeve. Photo: 5" x 7". Mounting board: ~7" x 9". Mounting board uneven and rough on two edges, photograph centered within rules but offcenter on mounting board, suggesting this board was detached from a larger piece; large sticker remnant and dried adhesive to verso. Minor spotting to photo edges; two abrasions to photo, affecting face of one student. Good+ condition overall. Early 20th century photograph of a diverse age-range of schoolchildren (possibly the entire student body?) at what we presume is a one-room school house in the Midwestern US. The children hold a flag reading "Kellogg." A sign mounted on the brick above the doorway behind the students reads: "$25 REWARD Will Be Paid for the Arrest and Conviction of Any Person Who Damages This Building[.] Lanterns on the School House Grounds Is Strictly Prohibited. Chas (??)".
