"The Anti-Saloon League of America: The object of this league is the extermination of the traffic in alcoholic beverages and the prevention of alcoholism and attendant evils, for the accomplishment of which the allicance of all who are in sympathy with this object is invited. The league pledges itself to avoid affiliation with any political party as such and to maintain an attitude of strict neutrality on all questions not directly and immediately concerned with the traffic in beverage alcohol.".
