Description: Glasgow: Printed for Andrew & John M. Duncan, 1816. 3rd edition, 1st issue, of a work that first appeared in 1805. Period black half calf with marbled paper boards, with front board having a printed green paper onlay, lozenge shaped: "Duncan's Itinerary of Scotland.". xix, [2], 81 [each page number duplicated, i.e. 162], [2], 83, [2], 43, [1 (advert)] pp. Large folding map ["Scotland with the Great Roads and Canals", 20-1/2" x 15-1/4", "corrected for the Third Edition"] as frontis. 8-5/8" x 3-5/8". Joint leather separating, with old cloth tape repair to hinges. Browning to paper. Map with a few stains. A Good copy of this rare Scottish guide book. The itinerary and the observations are on opposite pages, with duplicate paging, 1-81. At the time of cataloguing, OCLC records two copies of this 3rd edition [none in the United States].
