Kenna was first a student at Santa Clara University then a professor and finally president of the institution from 1888 - 1893, then again in 1899 - 1905 being the 9th and 12th president of the college. Kenna Hall is named in honor of this individual. The image taken by H. Schoene, a Santa Clara based photographer, and is from his "Santa Clara Gallery".
