Now housed in a clear archival mylar sleeve. [2], 67, [3] pp. 1st leaf, last leaf blank. 12mo. 6-1/8" x 3-3/4". Unobtrusive dampstain to lower half of wrappers & 1st 2 leaves of the text block. Period poi to ffep & t.p. Withal, a solid VG copy of a scarce book. Contains a wealth of service information, beginnning with the Office of the Secretary of the Navy [$6000 per annum], including date of present commission or warrant, date of original entry into the service, state of birth, state of citizenship, state of appointment & duty or station; also includes a list of vessels (e.g. one 'steam' ship note, the FULTON) with basic data for each—e.g. when and where built, and present assignment (the FULTON stationed in New York, as a 'Receiving Ship'). Rare edition of this fantastic historical reference which was to become a staple in Navy life (how else, except reference to the "Register", would one know who was senior to whom?). Not in American Imprints, and no holdings shown on OCLC.
