Vol II with t.p. imprint solely of Carey & Hart. 12mo. 7-3/4" x 4-7/8". Each volume slightly cocked. Spine cloth sunned, and labels chipped. Ownership signature, and drawings by John. S. Hittell [probably the Alta California editor & the writer on California subjects, such as the Resources of California, who came to CA from Ohio in 1849], Hamilton Ohio, Dec. 1st 1845, to boards, eps & t.p. Paper browned. Withal, a VG set of a scarce set, especially in original publisher's boards, with a nice California association.
