Onder het portret zijn naam en vier regels in het Latijn. Prent uit deel 3 van de serie Pictorum Aliquot Celebrium Praecipuae Germaniae Inferioris Effigies. Serie van 72 kunstenaarsportretten vervaardigd door Hendrick Hondius I, Simon Frisius, Andries Jacobsz. Stock en Robert de Baudous. Vroom was schilder van marines, tekenaar en prentkunstenaar, werkzaam te Haarlem; hij was rooms-katholiek. Gegraveerd door Hendrik Hondius I (1573-1650) naar Simon Wijnants Frisius (1580-1629) .
