Tromp (1598-1653) in an oval made with a double wreath of laurel and palm leaves ending on the top with two trumpets.The wreats are created from two cannons placed on the opposite sides of a cartouche reading:'Martinus Trompius H.F. / Hollandiĉ et Occidentalis / Frisiĉ Rerum Maritimarum / Viceprĉfectus'.On the four corners cannon balls. The cartouche rests on two big sea shells and coral branches.Signed on the bottom:'H. Pot Pinxit I. Suyderhoef Sculp.' Before 1686.[NL] Portret van Maarten Harpertszoon Tromp, luitenant-admiraal van Holland en West-Friesland, in een decoratieve omlijsting van lauwertakken, kanonnen en kanonskogels. De lijst wordt bekroond door twee trompetten. Gemaakt door Suyderhoef. Engraving on paper, with small margins; total: 424 x 333 mm; only state; reinforced margins on verso, somewhat cooked paper towards the regions where the supportive backing begins.
