Description: Impression from a series of prints after wax reliefs by Daniel Neuberger.The bust portraits of a man and a woman, being held on the shoulders of a Hercules. The couple is crowned with laurel by two deities, one at each side of the scene. Atop are three cupids holding a wreath with vegetation and fruits. Standing besides the Hercules are a young man and a young girl carrying attributes. At his feet is a lion and two prisoners in chains.Signed at bottom: D. Neuberger inv. / G. C. Eimmart del et sculp.On verso collector's mark of Pim van Eekelen [L. 5101]. On the mount, under the print, handwritten notes by van Eekelen, with references to the artists.Neuberger was a sculptor specialising in wax reliefs, working in Augsburg and Vienna. Examples of his work are in the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna, and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Otherwise in very good condition.
