Description: View on the Benschopperpoort in IJsselstein, seen from the South-east to North-west. The poort does no longer exist in its entirety. There are similar views of the poort in drawing and print, mostly seen towards the opposite side, thus including the mills a little beyond. See, for instance, the drawing by Pieter Jan van Liender (1752, inv. RP-T-1928-78) and the print by Hendrik Spilman after Jan de Beijer (1750/92, inv. RP-P-AO-14-8A-3) at the Rijksmuseum. AB van der Steur suggested attributing the drawing to Cornelis Pronk (1691-1759).[NL] Antieke tekening uit ca 1750 toegeschreven aan Cornelis Pronk (1691-1759). Drawing on laid paper, watercolour in gray; total: 122 x 192 mm; a small damage on the bottom margin, otherwise in very good condition.
