After a painting by Hendrik Martensz. Sorgh (1611-1670). He was a Dutch theologian and Remonstrant who played a significant role at the Synod of Dordrecht in 1618.On verso, towards the bottom, in pen and brown ink: 1654.Inscribed: SIMON EPOSCOPIUS AETATIS LX ANNO MDCXLIII.
