Description: View on a house overlooking a canal. At the top centre, a woman with a basin is about to dip it and get some water from below. Possibly Delft.In pencil at the bottom left: ‘1ste Proef.’From a folder with several etchings by Cornet: ‘ETS-PROEVEN DOOR J.L. CORNET / LEIJDEN / 1851’; in pencil at the bottom right corner: ‘2de Gedeelte 1853.’  Etching on paper, in chine collé with wide margin; total: 303 x 462 mm; very bright impression; some foxing on the external margins, a small tear on the left margin and smaller teas on the right and bottom, not affecting the plate.
