Description: Two allegorical prints (one in black and one in red ink) with the coat of arms of the Seven Provinces hanging from the Orange tree. At center the arms of Willem V with the motto of the order of the Garter: 'HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE.'Signed at bottom: J. v. Meus del / J.L. vam Beek schulpz.One impression in black and one in red ink.[NL] Stadswapens van de zeven provinciën onder Willem V hangende aan de oranjeboom. Op 23 januari sluiten Gelderland, Holland, Zeeland, Utrecht, Friesland, Overijssel en Groningen zich aaneen om de Spanjaarden te verdrijven, onder de naam Confederatie van de Zeven Provinciën. In 1588 wordt de confederatie van de Zeven Procinciën omgezet in de Republiek der Zeven Verenigde Nederlanden.
