A scroll at bottom with a motto in Latin: 'Septenas decoret Glebas, geminumque leonem, Justitiae mistrum Religione jubar.'Illustration from Christiaan Schotanus': Beschryvinge van de Heerlyckheydt van Frieslandt, tusschen't Flie end de Lauwers... met nieuwe Caerten van't Landschap in't algemeen soo aud als nieuw end de drie gedeellen in't besonder als mede de Grietenien end Steden op kosten van't Landt afgemeten, in't net gebracht..., published by Johannes Wellens in 1664. Some of the plates are signed by Jacob van Meurs I. Engraving on laid paper with some margins; total: 310 x 191 mm; despite some rubbing, in very good condition. Watermark with fool's cap.
