Description: Allegorical frontispiece with tile to the eigth volume of Thomas Salmon's Hedendaagsche historie of tegenwoordige staat van alle volkeren published in Amsterdam by Tirion in 1736.At bottom, putti with compass, a portrait medallion of Charlemagne and chain of the Golden Fleece, all standing or kneeling around a map of (part of) the German Empire. Among them is a crowned woman with a sceptre. On the left is a jar with portrait medallions with rulers of the German Empire. In the middle is a bust of a German monarch [George II ?], behind which are two Western Europeans.
