Description: Title page of the first volume of the Opera Omnia of Thomas Willis (1621-1675). Willis was an English doctor who played an important part in the history of anatomy, neurology and psychiatry.The book was published in Geneva [Coloniae Allobrocum] by Samuel de Tournes. His printer's device reads the motto: 'QUOD TIBI FIERI NON VIS ALTERI NE FECERIS.' [Do unto others as you would have done unto you.]Dated 1680.Mounted on a sheet of laid paper with decorative initials and page borders. Initials have different sizes and feature putti and fantasy animals. Woodcut and letterpress on paper, printed in black and red ink; total: 331 x 240 mm; some rubbing, overall in good condition.
