Description: Allegorical frontispiece to De Zedelyke en Stichtelyke Gezangen... published in Amsterdam in 1704 [1709, 1734].In a garden, irradiated by light from a cloud, in which there are six cherubs, are one standing and three seated women around a stone covered with scrolls, in the midst of which there is a burning heart; two of them in the foreground trample the World. Behind her in the garden four more women walking, next to one kneeling, and at the very back a gate. On the front of the stone: STICHTELYKE GEZANGEN door IAN LUYKEN. With the address of the publisher below: 'te AMSTERDAM by KORNELIS VAN DER SYS, Boekverkoper.' Etching on paper, trimmed within plate mark; total: 135 x 87 mm; in very good condition.
