Description: Frontispiece of a collection of poems by Hubert Gregorius van Vrijhoff (1704-1754): 'De Gedigten van H.G. van Vryhoff.' Published in Amsterdam by Jan Roman, in 1755.Flora is sitting in a garden, accompanied by two putti scattering flowers. Next to her is a basket of flowers. A gardener is working in the background. The scene is set in an inscribed elegant frame with a satyr head at the bottom.Signed and dated at bottom: 'A. v. d. Laan inv. et fecit 1735.' Etching on paper and letterpress; plate mark: 71 x 95 mm, total: 209 x 163 mm; rubbing and staining on the top margin, otherwise in fair condition.
