Description: Hand coloured copperplate engraving of St. Omer in France, as seen from above. With title (S.OMER) in a cartouche on the top of the plate. This print is copied after Braun and Hogenberg (1581).This print originates from 'Lodovico Guicciardini, Descrittione di tutti i Paesi bassi (...)' published in 1613. This was an influential account of the history and the arts of the Low Countries, accompanied by city maps by various leading engravers. Deys 2001. Pllate numbered on the bottom right: '81'. Etching on paper; plate mark: 157 x 237 mm, total: 194 x 294 mm. Despite a fold on the paper, in very good condition. Mounted on a thick sheet of paper.
