Description: Four lines of allegories, statues, emblems, and paintings in grisailles that decorated the triumphal arch on the Buitenhof for the entrance of William III the 5th of February 1691.Titled below: Beelden, devisen, schilderyen en zinnebeelden zich van buyten vertoonende opde zeege- en eerepoorten voor het hof / Statues, devises, peintures et emblemes du dehors de l' arc de triomphe devant la cour. Not signed.This plate was included in G. Bidloo 'Komst van Zijn Majesteit Willem III in Holland...', 1691, or its French translation published in 1692. Etching on paper, mounted on cardboard: 335 x 448; total: 354 x 460 mm. Vertical folding crease repaired on the top and bottom from verso, some staining and smudges; overall in good condition.
