In the background the Stadholder's Quarter and three masts with decorated initials.In the foreground, people are panicking trying to save goods.Titled at bottom with address of the publisher: 'De kermis-kramen op 't Buitehof in 's Gravenhage, in brand, op den 9 may 1758 / F. Houtteuyn excudit.'Used in Wagenaar's 'Vaderlandsche Historie...' vol. XXII, p. 450.  Etching and engraving on paper with wide margins; plate mark: 184 x 240 mm, total: 255 x 338 mm; smudges and dirt on the margins, some more dirt on the bottom left corner; in good condition; Muller  4082.
